Paramount Pictures announced that the theatrical engagement for Raiders of the Lost Ark will be extended. The film will play in more than 300 theaters across the U.S. and Canada. You can read the announcement below: Due to the extraordinary response for the newly re-mastered RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK during its one-week IMAX engagement, Paramount Pictures Corporation, a division of Viacom, Inc., has announced that the film will have an extended theatrical run beginning Friday, September 14.
It's here! One of the single most anticipated releases of the year has finally made it! But before we dig into Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures five-disc Blu-ray set, let's take a trip back through the series and discuss each film. Among film geeks there's always been one big debate that's garnered much discussion: Which Indiana Jones film is really the best? While no one would probably list Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as the absolute best of the saga, there's been some good arguments for the other three films in the series. But the first two sequels of the original Indy Trilogy have their strengths and their weaknesses, but more on that in a bit.
The Engineers of Industrial Light and Magic describe the technology in refining the film originals for the Blu-Ray release of the Indiana Jones series.
Karen Allen, who romanced Indiana Jones, has been lured back to the New York stage. Allen, perhaps best known for her role in the first Indiana Jones film and the recent sequel "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," will star in the American premiere of Jon Fosse's "A Summer Day."
Raiders of the Lost Ark is heading back to the big screen -- but this time, it’s the really big screen. Paramount is re-releasing the classic 1981 adventure movie, directed Steven Spielberg, executive produced by George Lucas and starring Harrison Ford, in Imax theaters next month, ahead of a splashy debut on Blu-ray. Paramount has not made any official announcement, but the movie already is popping up on various ticketing and theater websites as an attraction opening Sept. 7. Fandango, for example, has it listed at the AMC Century 15 in Imax for that date.
One of my favorite go-to websites, Blu-ray.com, has been updated with bonus content information that will be included in the Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures boxed set, which is scheduled to hit stores on September 18th.
Frank Marshall is a hell of a producer. His resume reads like a best-of list: The Goonies, Back to the Future, The Sixth Sense, the Bourne series, etc. One of the most beloved franchises that he’s been a part of, however, is Indiana Jones. Though the long-awaited fourth entry, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was greeted with a rather lackluster response, fans remain curious about the prospect of Indiana Jones 5.

Indiana Jones is making his Blu-ray debut, more than 31 years after the adventuring archaeologist first bull-whipped his way across the big screen in Steven Spielberg’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” To mark the release, Lucasfilm is re-creating a scene from “Raiders” at its Comic-Con booth (booth 2913); fans of the Harrison Ford-starring franchise will be able to have their picture taken with a slither of snakes, à la Indy in the Well of Souls.

George Lucas says he's working on Indiana Jones 5 "right now"! As Marion said: "whatever you're doing, do it faster!"
This was a new feeling for George Lucas. He made a movie about a plucky band of freedom fighters who battle an evil empire a movie loaded with special effects like no one had seen before. Then he showed it to executives from all the Hollywood studios. And every one of them said, Nope.
Whenever Steven Spielberg is asked about the status of a fifth Indiana Jones film, he usually passes the buck to his producing partner George Lucas, whom he entrusts to come up with the plot-propelling MacGuffin for each movie (whether it's the ark of the covenant or an extraterrestrial crystal skull).
With Cowboys & Aliens premiering tonight at Comic-Con, Harrison Ford has attached himself to another cowboy role, though this one comes with an interesting twist. Ford is attached to star as an aging Wyatt Earp in Black Hats, an adaptation of a Max Allan Collins novel being produced by Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk and Jason Netter of Kickstart Productions.
